Setting the Foundation

Paul Mann, a man of humble but purposeful beginnings, built his first hull, a 52.6' custom sport fisher named Mad Hatter in 1987. He began construction in a rented shop in Dare County, North Carolina. Culminated in this building was the thought of future foundations, laid not just underfoot, but in the legacy that would become Mann Custom Boats–a legacy that would be forever rooted in Carolina boat building. COA Receives Donation from Paul Mann Custom Boats, Inc.

Paul and Robin Mann of Paul Mann Custom Boats donated a handcrafted conference table to the College of The Albemarle Foundation. The table, made of various hardwoods, was built using remnant pieces repurposed from Mann custom interiors. The top is made from teak and holly with ash sea-rails. The sea-rail is similar to that of the traditional nautical sea-rail. The legs are made of poplar and there is a teak band around the base of the table top. Congratulations to the Paul Mann Custom Boats teams for being a billfish daily winner, having the heaviest wahoo and for bringing in the Junior Anglers honors at the Pirates Cove Billfish Tournament held August 8-15, 2020

A nice shout out goes to the TENACITY, ANN WARRICK and TAIL GUNNER captain and crews for their achievements during the 37th annual Pirates Cove Billfish Tournament. There was a total of 41 gamefish including 25 yellowfin tuna, 14 dolphin and two wahoo for a combined total of 473 billfish overall. Aboard the 52-foot TAIL GUNNER, Twelve-year-old William Ramsey IV captured the Junior Angler honors with four billfish worth 700 points. Frank Adams brought in the heaviest wahoo aboard the 76-foot ANN WARRICK captained by Brad Diaz. TENACITY, 56-foot custom, was the billfish daily winner and the owners had this to say
