Paul Mann Custom Boats Named Top Cabinetry Category Winner
in Prestigious 2016 Veneer Tech Craftsman’s Challenge™
Woodworking Competition

ATLANTA, GA: Paul Mann Custom Boats of Manns Harbor, NC, was named worldwide winner
of the Cabinetry category in the Twelfth Annual Veneer Tech Craftsman’s Challenge™
woodworking competition, the woodworking industry’s most prestigious and coveted awards
for natural veneer craftsmanship. The competition was sponsored by Veneer Tech and
co-sponsored by FDMC magazine. The award was given for the design and technical
woodworking skill exhibited in the figured teak veneer cabinetry throughout recently
launched Paul Mann 60-foot custom sportfishing yacht CAUGHT UP.

Winners in the six categories of competition (cabinetry, furniture, architectural
woodworking, marquetry, specialty items and student design) were announced at the
Georgia World Congress Center during an awards reception at the 2016 International
Woodworking Fair. The custom yacht builder was awarded a check for $1000, and
CAUGHT UP will be recognized nationwide in print and electronic publications
throughout the boating and woodworking industries, as well as in local and
regional media outlets.

Judges for the competition were woodworking specialists including world renown
educator and craftsman Marc Adams of the Marc Adams School of Woodworking;
Bill Esler, editorial director for Woodworking Network; and Bob Nurre, national
accounts business manager for Roseburg Forest Products. Esler commented, “This is
a stunning project that reminds us of the practical value of veneer in nautical
applications: It conveys the warmth and substance of solid wood but is light in weight.”

The Veneer Tech Craftsman's Challenge™ competition aims to recognize excellence
in woodwork and architectural woodwork that feature natural veneer and wood product
applications. Craftsman’s Challenge judges reward those who use veneer products
in the best way while achieving the project’s stated goals.

recognized for the fifth time in twelve years by the Craftsman’s Challenge
for our cabinetry work and even more excited to have been selected by such
elite woodworkers in a very well-known and respected competition. We are proud
